mega menu navigation helps the user understand where they are, where they want to go and if the information they are looking for can be found on your site.
But if your navigation is vague, too jargon-heavy or doesn't break anything down properly... you risk them taking one look and leaving.
That increases your bounce rate, which doesn't do great things for your rankings or conversion rate.

throw out the rules, add descriptions, organize by industry, and really get creative. you can a/b test what works best and have fun with it.
